The Magic of Disney with Tommy Papers!

Here is a fun layout that I designed with my friend and fellow CTMH consultant, Brenda Herndon. We used a pattern called Backstage from the awesome How-To book by Jeanette Lynton called Magic.  The surprise is that we used Background and Texture (B&T) papers from the new paper packet called Tommy!

As you can see in this artwork and by clicking HERE, the Tommy papers are primarily nautical in theme, but we thought it worked quite well with our Disney theme!  We used lots of layers and 3-D Foam Tape for dimension. I love how the Black Shimmer Trim really shines and highlights the photo mats!

We used the Mickey Font Cricut Cartridge, and Tinkerbell for the wand. Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel adds lots of sparkle to the wand!

I hope this inspires you to think outside the box when designing with the exclusive My Reflections Scrapbook Products

Flip Up Book with Later Sk8r

Good Morning, Happy Tuesday! This is a super fun project we did at our last team meeting. This great book is much easier than it looks and is sure to impress. It would make an awesome gift!  I started with 12 x 12 paper from the Later Sk8r paper pack (one of my favs!), added some stars from Art Philosophy (page 49, size 2" & 1.5") and finished it off with some matching Baker's Twine. There are some wonderful directions on the internet if you want to make one of your own. Just search Flip Up Book and you will find some fabulous tutorials. Many are made with circles but I wanted this book to be square. I will share a couple more Flip Up books with you in the next few days.

We used the For Always paper pack and the Disney Cars cricut cartridge. I love how versatile this paper is. It is super easy to change the look by adding different colors, you can go from a Wedding theme to Cars by just adding some bright and fun colors.

Spring is in the Air: FCCB Challenge #153

Hi there! Rachel here again with another fun Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog (FCCB) challenge. This week is #153- Spring is in the Air! The project needs to have a kite or balloons, so I chose to use the cute hot air balloon cut from Artiste.
Here are the pieces I used to make this card.

I ended up cutting the balloon out of Chantilly paper instead of using the purple one. I then used the upcoming CTMH April Stamp of the Month, "My Sunshine", to add details to the balloon and the sun!

Keep an eye out for this next month, it's an awesome set and you can qualify to purchase it for only $5!

I used foam tape to pop up the balloon, cloud, sun rays, and sentiment banner.

The sentiment is from this month's Stamp of the Month, Floral Happiness. You can qualify to get this one until March 31 for only $5!

I hope you enjoyed my project, and you can check out the other fun FCCB Design Team member projects HERE! You'll definitely be inspired, so make sure to play along with us this week. I look forward to seeing what you come up with for our Spring is in the Air challenge!

Get Well Card

Happy Wednesday friends! I was inspired by my friend Joanne Walton to make this great card using the Claire papers from Close To My Heart. I have always liked Hollyhock and Outdoor Denim paired up and this paper pack does that and more. The colors are bright and cheery, just what I needed for my card. The flower was made with simple cuts from the Art Philosophy cartridge. Hollyhock page 41, size 3", Sunset page 41 size 2.5", Outdoor Denim page 31 size 2" and Buttercup page 31 size 1.5".  This is one of the cards we will be making at my March Crazy4Cards classes

Bye Bye Birdie - FCCB Challenge #151

Hi everyone, I'm excited to post my first challenge project as a new design team member on the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog (FCCB)! This week's challenge is #151 - Bye Bye Birdie, which is to create a project with a bird.

The funny thing is, I had recently created a tag with a cute bird while I was a guest designer over at the H2H Challenge Blog (you can see that project HERE). While I had several options to choose from on the Art Philosophy and Artiste cartridges, I decided to go with that same cute little bird to go along with my favorite new CTMH paper pack, Chantilly.  I can't get enough of the brilliant spring colors in this paper, so I made a fun little gift box!

This cute little gable box can be found on page 37 in the Artiste handbook, and page 7 of the included Assembly guide.

It is super easy to make, and will be perfect for holding a gift of candy or jewelry. I cut out the box at 4" using the Chantilly paper. Here is how it looks after cutting.

You can see that it actually cuts out about 10 1/2" x 8 1/2", but the 4" cut size refers to the final project size once it's all folded up and put together.

I cut out the bird and the wing using Art Philosophy. This can be found on page 51 of the handbook, and they were both cut out at 1 3/4".

For more detailed instructions on putting the bird together, click HERE

I then stamped a banner and sentiment from the For A Friend stamp set (love this one!) and cut it out.  I added some Green Sparkles to the banner and on top of some Glitter Buttons and an acrylic flower.

I was able to easily fold the box by following the assembly guide, and then I adhered some retired CTMH ribbon around it.  I used 3-D Foam Tape to adhere the bird and banner on top of the ribbon, and I clustered the buttons and acrylic flowers under the bird.

I hope you like my bird project, and you can get more inspiration from the other Fantabulous Design Team members HERE. I look forward to seeing what you come up with, so make sure to link up your project and play along with us!
