Whooo's Your Valentine layout

Good Morning! Happy Friday! This week I got a chance to play with the Whooo's Your Valentine stamp set, it's so stickin cute!   I was inspired by a wonderful layout designed by Michelle Snyder. I just loved the stamped border and adorable clusters of owls and hearts made with stamped images. Aren't they cute?! The "I (heart) you" title is from Artiste page 66 size 1.75. ( at this size the large heart from the stamp set fits perfectly)  The circles are from Artiste too, page 48 size 1.5 &1.25.

Pillow Box Owl

Hello! Are you as excited about all the trendy owls in papercrafting as I am?

I was so happy when I saw the cute little owl cut on the Artiste cartridge when it came out, and the adorable owl stamps on our current CTMH National Papercrafting Month promotion called Whooo's Your Valentine! I couldn't help but put them together in this little Valentine pillow box.

I cut the pillow box out of Cotton Candy cardstock from the Art Philosophy cartridge, (page 28, Font Layer/Shift) at 5".  I then cut the owl pieces from Artiste, (page 76, Accent 3/Shift) at 3 1/4".  I cut these out in both Cotton Candy and Black cardstock.

I absolutely love this stamp set! I used the adorable stamp with little hearts to create a background on my box. I used the heart with dots and the zig zag stamps on the feathers and wings. I stamped the cute baby owl and one of the sentiments on White Daisy cardstock and cut them out.  I attached these with 3-D Foam Tape.  I used Cotton Candy ink for all the stamping.

I finished her off with a Baker's Twine bow from the Paradise Assortment, and some Bitty Sparkles! I can't wait to fill it with some treats to give away. Let me know if this has inspired you to make some Valentine's projects, I'd love to hear from you!

Cheers Layout

Good Morning and Happy Monday! This is the 2nd layout we will be making at my January Scrap4Fun classes. I "scraplifted" the layout design from my talented friend Sue Nielsen and I just changed the papers to Dakota. I absolutely LOVE the Pirouette stamp, isn't it gorgeous?! The coordinating cut is on the Artiste cartridge page 56, size 3.75".  The Slate Mini Medley Accents and Polka-dot Ribbon look fabulous on this layout. I hope you like it!

Avonlea Birthday Card

Hello, it's Rachel here again after a nice holiday break! I hope you all enjoyed your holiday season with family and friends.

My sister-in-law has a birthday coming up on Monday, so it was good for me to get back in my craft room just in time to make her a birthday card.

This card was inspired by the Thanks Card on page 27 of the Autumn/Winter 2012 Idea Book. It is a 4 1/2" square size, and I decided to use the Avonlea papers for this card. For the base, I used Avonlea Teal. I then layered 3 strips of B&T (background and texture) papers which measured 4 1/4" x 1 3/8".

I cut the pretty doily shape from Artiste found on page 31, Accent 1, at 3 3/4".  I also cut an oval shape from page 36 at 1 1/4" which fit my Happy Birthday stamp perfectly. The stamp set is called Casual Expressions, and has 7 coordinating shapes from Artiste that will fit the stamps, I love it!

I inked the edges and stamped the sentiment with Slate ink, which is one of my favorite and I think the most versatile new color.

On top of the doily shape I added one of the Avonlea Complements Canvas Shapes with some 3-D foam tape.  I finished it off with some Bitty Sparkles, Color Ready Seam Binding, and a Bling Assortment button and pin.

Happy Birthday Layout

Don't you love this fun layout? I sure do and I wish I could take credit but I just scrap-lifted it. My friend Sue Nielsen designed it and then my friend Shauna Nuttall tweaked it a little bit. It's a great way to use lots of different pattern papers from your stash. This is one of the layouts we will be making at my Scrap4Fun classes this month. Family Display Tray Gift

Today I am sharing a gift I made for my daughter and son-in-law. I was happy with how it turned out and they liked it too. I used Avonlea papers to decorate and Art Philosophy for the banner (page 49, size 2"0) and rolled flowers (page 68, size 2.5" & 3")

I love making rolled flowers for my home decor projects. If you haven't tried these yet, give them a try. They are so easy and add so much to any project.

Tea Caddy

I have one more fabulous project to share from our Guest designer Pam. She shared that her inspiration for her Tea Caddy came from two talented CTMH consultants, Vicki Wizniuk and our own Rachel Loesch. I hope you like her beautiful projects as much as I did!

Here are Pam's directions:
Using Cricut Artiste
1.Cut 5 1⁄4” 3D Object <0> (page 40) on Avonlea Teal cardstock
2.Cut two 5 1⁄4” shift + 3D Object (page 40) on Avonlea Teal cardstock. Fold and glue top and bottom covers together.
3.Score 2” above the top of the box cardstock in the SECOND SECTION ONLY. Cut out the 2” by 2 1⁄2” piece from the bottom of the second section.
4.Fold and glue box together.
5.For top of box cut one 2 1⁄2 “ by 2 1⁄2” slate cardstock and one 2 1⁄4” by 2 1⁄4” B and T Duo Avonlea Paper and glue to top lid.
6.For box cut three 2 1⁄4” x 4 7/8” slate cardstock and one 2 1⁄4” x 3” slate cardstock. Glue to sides of box.
7.Cut three 2” by 2 15/16” B and T Duo Avonlea Paper in one color and three 2” by 2 15/16” in a second B and T Duo Avonlea Paper and one 2” by 2 3⁄4” B and T Duo Avonlea Paper.
8.Cut two top stripe pattern pieces from top of B and T Duo Avonlea to glue on the side of the top and side of the bottom top.
9.For flowers for top lid cute 2 1 1⁄2” Accent 2 (page 54) out of Avonlea Teal cardstock and 2 2 1⁄2” Accent 2 (page 54) out of Avonlea Off White cardstock. Using a quilling tool wrap the flowers to assemble.
10.Cut 3 3⁄4” shift +Accent 4 <4> (page 54) out of Avonlea Green cardstock. Sponge edge of leaves in Slate ink and edges of off white flowers in Close to my Heart Exclusive stamp pad ink Juniper.
11.Cut 1 1 1⁄2” Accent<3> (page 33) out of Avonlea off white cardstock. Stamp Tea with C1438 Tea Time Close to my Heart My Acrylix stamp set in Close to my Heart Exclusive stamp ink Slate and small flowers in Juniper ink.
12.Assemble box and top and bottom lid. Decorate with pearls on sides, tops, and box top and box bottom lids.
13.Fill box with bagged tea with no tags attached.
