Heart 2 Heart Challenge: Moving On

Hello! I was honored this month to be asked to be a guest designer at the Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog. The challenge is called Moving On, and must contain an interactive element or something that moves. I decided to make this fun little beanie hat gift card holder that I saw here.

This is what it looks like when it's closed:

And here it is when it's open!

Of course, I made it a little differently by using my Cricut and the Art Philosophy cartridge. Here are the cuts I used.

Adhere the Frosted half circle to one half of the cardstock circle. Fold up the flower to make the pom pom on top. Layer the strips onto the scalloped piece.

Glue the other half of the cardstock circle onto the back of the scalloped piece towards the bottom.

Slide the layered half circle in between the two pieces.

Hold onto the edge and punch a hole and add an eyelet.
Here is how the back looks.
And here is how the front looks. You can slide a gift card right in there!

I added the pom pom piece in between the layered patterned paper and cardstock piece, then added the embellishments, and stamped it for the final touches.
Why don't you try this challenge for yourself? Have fun and make sure to link it up at the Heart 2 Heart blog HERE!

These are the items I used to make this project:

Treat Box Card

Hello friends! Today I am sharing a Treat box card that we made at our Team Meeting last week. These are so fun to make and turn out so cute!!! Each box holds 5 Hershey nuggets. We used the new Sparkle and Shine paper from Close to my Heart. I used the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge for the circle(2.25") and scallop circle(2.75"). I also used Art Philosophy for the cut out shape on the box. With Cricut Craft Room I was able to stretch the shape to the size I wanted and position it on my mat right where I wanted it to cut. The idea was inspired by my friend Debbi Fournier. Thanks for stopping by!

"Santa-tude" Retreat goodies

Wow October went by in a crazy, wonderful blur! I had four fabulous retreats in 5 weeks and I loved it!!! So many great friends coming together for weekends full of scrapping, food and SMILES!!! Here are some of the goodies I made for the retreats. The layout is made with the Sparkle and Shine papers, Ruby Mini Medleys, and Teddy Bear Parade cartridge. I wrapped chocolate ho hos (Yes, they are back) with pattern paper and stamped with the super cute "Santa's Greeting" stamp. Then I filled CTMH treat tubes with chocolate candy and added stamped faux suckers to decorate. Thanks to all of my great scrapbooking friends and team for making these retreats the BEST!!

Babycakes Layouts with Art Philosophy

Hello friends! Today I wanted to share these adorable layouts I made with the New Babycakes papers and canvas shapes. With a new grand baby in the family I was of course thrilled with this new paper from Close to my Heart. Aren't the little character just so darn cute?! These pages were so simple to make and I love how just a couple of simple cricut cuts helped make them complete. On the first layout I added two scalloped squares (page 33, size 4") and on the second layout I added the large shaped square (page 43, size 9 inches). I am offering both layouts as a bonus kit this month. Please contact me for details. Have a beautiful day!!

Happy Birthday Card

Today I am sharing a birthday card I made for my daughter's 18th birthday. I used CTMH For Always paper. I love the bold black and white patterns that go so well with whatever splash of color you want to add. I used Lagoon ink to alter one of the pattern papers by sponging ink to change the background color. (see below) Isn't that cool?!!! Think of the possibilities.
The flowers are from Art Philosophy page 21, sizes are 2.5", 2" and 1.5. I can't believe my baby girl is 18-sniff sniff. Have a beautiful day!
