H2H Challenge: Clean and Simple

Today is my final challenge as the guest designer over at the H2H Challenge blog. The theme this week is the hardest one for me yet: Clean and Simple!

I tend to want to add lots of bling and embellishments to my projects so it was hard to hold back and go for a more simple look. Here is what I came up Easter egg!

I used the awesome Art Philosophy cartridge to make this, of course! You can find this fun card shape on page 57 of the handbook. I cut the card and the base pieces at 5 1/2".

I used my Cuttlebug to dry emboss the top and bottom parts of the egg shape.

To keep the embellishments clean and simple, I only added some strips of Washi Tape and Silver Shimmer Trim. I used Cotton Candy ink to stamp a sentiment from the adorable Easter Wishes stamp set. I love this set, it's so cute and only $9.95!
As a final touch, I added one small clear acrylic flower from the Claire Assortment. I put a small dab of Silver Glitz Glitter Gell to the center of the flower.

I added this embellished piece to the card front with 3-D Foam Tape.

And that's all there is to it! It really is simple :)

I hope you'll join the H2H Challenge: Clean and Simple along with me and all the design team this week. I can't wait to see what you come up with!  I hope this style is easier for you than it was for me :)

Happy Crafting!

  1. A wonderful CAS card - don't usually see them in a shape, Rachel - just lovely (like the glitter, too)

  2. Oh so cute, Rachel! Love the egg shape! I am a traditional standard size card maker but will have to try shaped ones sometime soon! Thanks so much for being our H2H guest designer this month. It has been great having you sharing your beautiful creations with us!

  3. I have enjoyed seeing all of your amazing creations this week, Rachel! I have a hard time with CAS at times too. I really love the dry emboss on the white card. That new washi has definitely stolen my heart. Great addition of the silver glitz to the flower! :)

  4. Love it, Rachel! I always enjoy seeing the Cricut keypad you show and the size!
